Disability Job Center
Disability Job Center is Pakistan’s first and the largest employment site connecting job seekers with disabilities with organizations/institutions. By collaborating with various organizations/institutions we reach out the talent pool of persons with disabilities and provide them with various opportunities for their career development. We recognize that an important aspect of social inclusion is having the opportunity to work. All individuals including persons with disabilities should have the opportunity to find and retain a job. However, the rate of employment among disabled persons is below that of people without a disability. 80% to 90% of persons with disabilities of working age are unemployed in developing countries including Pakistan.
In Pakistan, many people with a disability want to have a job and get other opportunities as well but they do not have a portal which is specifically designed for them where they can get the updates. This portal is entirely focused on persons with disabilities. It is a comprehensive website. Here the employers from different sectors post jobs and other opportunities for persons with disabilities. The applicants can simply register themselves on the website and apply for the relevant opportunity. The applicants are also assisted through the process of getting the opportunity. To make his portal more effective it is also linked to social media i.e. Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
Disability Job Center aspires to work in accordance with the UNCRPD Article 27 i.e. ‘States Parties must promote employment opportunities and career advancement for persons with disabilities in the labor market, as well as assistance in finding, obtaining, maintaining and returning to employment.’
